Hmm..
I was thinking how Tumblr starts out with a few users who follow other users.  Those users reblog things they like from the Tumblrs they follow. Newer users that follow those users like what those users reblog and then reblog it themselves. Then other users who follow those users see those reblogs will either reblog it again or decide to just go straight to the source and follow the original...
